About Me
Having grown up in Wales, I moved to the Exeter area to study, and liked it so much that I’m still here all these years later.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in the field of infertility, and supported new parents through volunteering.
These experiences gave me first-hand insight into the emotional toll of life transitions - grief, postnatal depression, loss and the unspoken pressure to 'cope'.
Beyond my counselling work I am passionate about supporting people through education and advocacy.
I work with More Positive Me to deliver J9 training, an initiative that helps professionals and community members recognise and respond to Domestic Abuse.
I also help facilitate their Empowerment After Domestic Abuse courses, supporting survivors as they rebuild their confidence and independence.
You can learn more about More Positive Me and the J9 training Initiative here or find out about their work supporting survivors of Domestic Abuse here
I am a governor at a local primary school with responsibility for Safeguarding. I work to help the school with using Trauma Informed Practice to support the most vulnerable children.
This gives me an understanding of what people may have gone through in their childhood or how parents can struggle to support heir children.
